Kunzea honey

Kunzea honey is a particularly rare honey due to the relatively limited distribution of dense stands of Kunzea ambigua along the northeast coast of Tasmania.  Kunzea flowers profusely but for only a narrow time frame in mid-spring. Wellington Apiary has produced this honey from hives near Tasmana’s iconic Freycinet National Park.

Anyone familiar with kunzea will know its instantly recognisable floral perfume.  It is a delightful sweet buttery aroma with undertones of citrus and eucalyptus.  It is one of those smells that fills the entire landscape and announces the burgeoning Spring.  A true coastal delight.
