$15.00

Forest Infusion contains three notable Tasmanian native plants – kunzea, pepperberry and sassafras – each with distinct flavours and therapeutic benefits. Add to that wild harvested rosehips to make an extraordinairy tea for reducing inflammation and oxidative stress.

Each ingredient in this 100% Tasmanian tea is sustainably harvested, hand picked, and pesticide free. Forest infusion contain 50% kunzea leaf, 37.5% rosehip, 7.5% sassafras and 5% pepperberry.

Kunzea Ambigua

Kunzea oil as a topical skin application has been recognised by the Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) as providing localised relief from the pain of arthritis, muscle and joint soreness, as well as reducing nervous tension. Ingestion of kunzea leaf as tea may have similar but more systemic impacts – although this needs to be substantiated through research.

Kunzea has a honey, thyme, citrus flavour and aroma.

Rosehips

Rosehips are considered an old world cure-all natural remedy for the immune system, skin conditions, arthritis, gout, inflammatory conditions and high cholesterol. Best of all it tastes divine! Soft, delicate and fruity. Health benefits of rosehips

So, despite the horrors of harvesting and processing this prickly itchy fruit, we are bringing this red gem back into the spotlight. With great flavour and heaps of health benefits, it deserves a place in the gourmet food stage!

Pepperberry

Three times more antioxidants than blueberries as demonstrated in this RIRDC report! Additionally pepperberry contains the bioactive chemical ‘polygodial’, which may reduce inflammation and oxidative stress.

Pepperberry gives the tea a slight fruity flavour and aroma and a slight peppery tingle.

Sassafras

Sassafras is one of Tasmania’s most cherished trees, a rainforest species known for its fragrant aroma and specialty timber. It is also known by bushwalkers as a great bush tea.  It has even been used to make beer! Sassafras tea is believed to have several health benefits but there is too little reseach to substantiate this. Tasmanian sassafras should not be confused with North American sassafras, which is toxic.

USE

The longer you leave the tea steeping the spicier it gets! Probably 1 minute for mild and 5 minutes for burning! Play around with the steeping time until you find what suits you.
